What it runs

  • Staging backends for my apps, including a self-hosted Supabase stack.
  • Metabase for app analytics, a password manager, and private DNS.
  • A reverse proxy with automatic HTTPS, reachable only on my private Tailscale network.

Run like production

  • Nightly backups with the right method for each database, mirrored off site. A restore test once caught a silent corruption bug.
  • Uptime checks on every service with phone alerts.
  • Key-only SSH, a firewall, and nothing exposed to the public internet. It comes back on its own after a power cut.
